Regardless of major, college is expensive. Luckily, there are major-specific scholarships for students like you! Most schools offer specific scholarships for Business majors, depending on your year and GPA. Here’s a more general list to get you started:

Amount: $2,000 (region/district level), $8,000 (international)

Deadline: Varies by club (typically between April and June)

Eligibility:Women of any age, pursuing a business program (accounting, economics, finance, business management, marketing, operations management, human resources management, international business), attending an accredited university/ college/ institute, living or studying in a Zonta district/region, enrolled in at least second year of undergraduate program through final year of Master’s program, excludes members or employees of Zonta International and Zonta Foundation for Women

Description: The Jane M. Klausman Scholarship is geared toward helping “women pursue undergraduate and master's degrees in business management and overcome gender barriers from the classroom to the boardroom.” The official application includes a letter of recommendation from a faculty member in your major field of study, a letter of recommendation from a superior (e.g. employer, volunteer supervisor, academic advisor), an essay with a maximum of 500 words about academic and professional goals (amongst other topics), Zonta International verification of current enrollment form, and information about grades and transcripts from all universities.

Amount: $2,500

Deadline: February 26, 2021 (annual)

Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen/ permanent resident/ DACA recipient, must be a member of specified ethnic groups (African American/Black, Asian American/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino or Native American/Alaska Native), GPA of at least 3.0, must have major that has an emphasis on advertising, marketing or public relations, must have at least one year to complete degree when scholarship is awarded

Description: The LAGRANT Foundation Scholarship Program is geared toward underrepresented students who are entering a field of study closely related to business (as mentioned above). The application requires a reference letter from a college professor or internship advisor using official letterhead, a copy of unofficial transcripts from your college, a headshot photograph, a completed application form, one to two-page essay outlining your career goals and where you see that career path leading you, a brief paragraph about college and/or community activities you are involved in, a brief paragraph about any honors or awards you’ve received, and an acceptance letter from your college if you’re an incoming freshman or transfer student.

Amount: $1,500

Deadline: September 1 (annually)

Eligibility: GPA of at least 3.5, U.S. undergraduate student, pursuing a degree in business/business management/ advertising/ marketing/ related fields

Description: MaxHome is a business that focuses on home improvement, and this scholarship is a way to improve their community as well. The application includes a 1,000 to 1,500 word essay about the specified topic and an official transcript. If you are selected, funding must go toward educational costs such as books, tuition, supplies, etc.

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: October 15 (annually)

Eligibility: Must be a recently graduated high school senior, GPA of at least 3.0, currently pursuing a degree in Business/ Business Administration/ Finance/ Economics/ Public Policy

Description: The National Society of High School Scholars “focuses on Public Policy majors in order to foster leadership in public policy analysis and public management to promote effective public policy decisions on national and international issues.” The scholarship is geared toward students who will eventually make decisions that affect their communities, states, and nation. The application requires a color headshot, one or two educator recommendations, a transcript, a resume, and a response of 500 words maximum responding to a short prompt.

Amount: $1,000

Deadline: March 1, November 1 (annually)

Eligibility: Currently a college student with at least one year of college, GPA of at least 3.0, interested in pursuing a career in Internet Marketing

Description: The Hub Shout Internet Marketing Scholarship is geared toward students who are interested in Internet Marketing. The application involves copies of education certificates, two letters of recommendation from “high gazetted officials,” and a recent transcript of grades.

Amount: $1,000-$10,000

Deadline: February 15 (annually)

Eligibility: Enrolled full-time in an accredited four-year university or college, undergraduate enrolled in 9 semester hours, graduate student enrolled in 6 semester hours, have a declared major or minor in Accounting/ Business Administration/ Finance/ Criminal Justice, must demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in fraud examination or similar anti-fraud profession

Description: The Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship “supports the education of students who have an interest in pursuing a career in fraud examination.” The application includes two recommendation forms, an official transcript showing all completed college or university courses, and the completed application form. This scholarship excludes community college students, ACFE Chapter directors, and high school students.

Amount: $5,000 (2 installments of $2,500)
 
Deadline: March 10, 2021 (annually)

Eligibility: Full and part-time students with at least six credits per semester, must study at an accredited institution, must be a member of the Institute of Management Accountants, currently a student who will be continuing in a program in the upcoming academic year, express intent of pursuing a career in management accounting/ financial management/ information technology, GPA of at least 3.0, must sit for at least one part of Certified Management Accountant exam before completion of degree

Description: This Memorial Scholarship is geared toward students who show active leadership and are involved with their IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) chapter. The application requires the completion of the online form, a one-page resume (including your employment record, leadership activities, extracurricular activities, etc.), copies of university transcripts, one or two letters of recommendation, and two short answer essays of 300 words.

Deadline: March 15 (annually)

Eligibility: Resident of eligible counties in Southeast Michigan (Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Monroe, Washtenaw, Livingston or St. Clair), high school seniors, currently enrolled in college

Description: The Winnifred Stinson Basile Scholarship was made “to provide educational scholarship support to business students at private accredited educational institutions located in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.” The criteria for selection include good grades, demonstration of leadership and character through extracurricular activities, level of financial need, and geographic location. The application includes a written personal statement speaking to educational plans and educational goals.
